It's with a heavy heart and much deliberation that I'm putting this notice up. Between work being haywire and life in general just being quite crazy. I really haven't had a lot of time to sit down and work on Black Gate properly.(The months leading up to May) But when I did have the time to sit down, I realized how much of this I had left up to the 'fly by the seat of my pants' part of me, and I had no idea what my notes were. I literally have no idea what happens after chapter 3 beyond a few scribbles. I didn't plan.
That said, Black Gate is the first comic that I allowed myself to commit to. It's one of my favorite stories in the world that I've made and I'm not done yet. But I do need to officially lay INTS: Black Gate to rest. I apologize sincerely about the lack of updates and communication. When I came to the realization that I would need to rewrite - and actually plan the story because I was lost in my own 'notes', I was pretty devastated. I do know this though. When INTS:BG does return, it'll be much stronger than before.
It's going to be a while, this series is officially in reboot mode/hiatus.
I have a smaller story that I'll be putting on while I plot out INTS:BG (when I have time), it's called Now Hiring. It'll be going live in due time, and with a lot of planning.
TL;DR: Planing stories is good and I didn't plan and now the story won't work because of it. So I have to reboot or risk gaping giant plot holes and exposition.
Good luck, Spell! It seems like you've put a lot of thought into this and Now Hiring! It'll be cool to be able to read both once you're happy with the planning!
I went through a switch on stories myself-for different reasons but I understand knowing when to put it on halt-bravo for all that you accomplished and looking forward to seeing future projects of yours.
Yes, I was somewhat worried that this comic was dead but hoped it was not, so now I'm happy to see that it will be back. Best luck with the reboot, I'll be there :))
Many artists have had to reboot their comic, and it has worked out extremely well for them. Good luck, and we'll see you at NH and INTS:BG when you get back!
T^T Aww, man. I was really enjoying this story, but I shall wait eagerly upon your return. I know this reboot will be extraordinary! Many wishes to you!
Oh, I had no idea life had gotten you to this point. :( Poor spell. I'm sorry! You know I sympathize greatly of course. Good luck with your next project, and I hope that maybe some day you return to INTS!
